Will the panels rust?
Pressed Tin Panels are made from Aluminium sheeting, they will not rust.
Can you use them in a kitchen splashback?

Can you use them in the shower recess instead of tiles?
Yes, we do recommend Powder coating as the Aluminium panels are porous and will absorb fats and oils without some sort of sealer.
Are the panels easy to clean once powder coated?
Yes, even though the panels are patterned the powder coating makes cleaning a breeze as it is so smooth to the touch.
How do you clean the powder coated panels?
Just a quick wipe over with a hot soapy cloth, the micro fibre ones are great.
How do I paint the panels?
Pressed Tin Panels have all been 'etch primed' so just a basic primer then your choice of paint. Be sure that the paint and the primer are compatible, i.e. both water based.
How do the panels join?
Pressed Tin Panels have all been pressed to allow an over-lap join. The pattern then runs continuously along the wall or ceiling without a double-up impression.
Do I have to paint the panels?
We do recommend painting as Pressed Tin Panels are pressed from Mill Grade Aluminium sheeting and some surface scratching may be present.
Can I use the panels outside?
As the panels are pressed from Aluminium they won't rust and are suitable for outdoor use in low traffic situations.
How do I fix them to the wall?
You need Liquid Nails and Pop rivets or Wall Board nails.
What do I install them onto?
The panels are best installed on a clean, smooth surface such as ply or MDF. This then allows a nail or rivet to be placed anywhere opposed to being restricted to battens.
Do the panels dint easily?
Although the panels are only 0.55mm thick they do become quite rigid once the pressing process occurs. Galvanised panels may also be an option if a higher strength is required.
How do I cut the panels?
Cutting Pressed Tin Panels is best done with an Aluminium cutting disc in an angle grinder, this disc won't burn the panel and will achieve a neat finished edge.
How do I cut holes in Pressed Tin Panels?
Traditionally a drill hole and then small tin snips were and are used. These days with the invention of the "Rotary tool" hole cutting is easier, insert a cutting blade and you're away.
What sort of edging/capping do I use for wall panels and splashbacks?
Either the Small Plain Border or the Barbers Pole Border are great for this. Alternatively, a timber moulding from your local hardware store, may be used.
